Staying healthy

In this day and age, it is very easy for us to forget how convenient our lives are. If we want to eat something we can stay in our homes and order. If we want to do a week’s shopping, we don’t even have to leave the house. Many of our favourite foods and snacks are high in fats and sugars. It is therefore easy for us to lose track of our health and cause damage to our bodies. Our routines usually consist of us getting coffee in the morning or having a sugary dessert after dinner. I would like to dedicate this article to giving tips and advice on how to stay healthy to help improve life quality.

Eating less

You may think that being healthy means you have to give up the things you like and enjoy. This is not true and in fact it doesn’t require you to change your eating habits so drastically. It would help to drop all of the junk food, but the main idea is to have less. Eating less of these unhealthy foods is one of the easiest ways to start your journey. It is understandable that some old habits die hard and therefore this is a great starting point to help get your body in the mood for a healthier lifestyle. Instead of having a large portion of fries, go for the small option. Instead of having a large coffee go for a smaller one or one that has less sugar. You will very quickly see improvements in your diet.

Working out

This will require more discipline and dedication and isn’t easy for everyone. However, once you start a routine of going to the gym it is easy to become healthier. Nobody is asking you to do heavy weights or marathon runs. In fact, just doing a daily walk will help you to become increasingly healthy. Going to the gym at least 5 times a day is a great start and you may even find yourself feeling much better afterwards. Instead of staying home to watch movie/TV shows take 1-2 hours out of your day to exercise and you will notice the difference straight away.

Routine

One of the most important and overlooked ways is having a good routine. What I mean by this is having good daily habits to help you in your journey. These can be for example sleeping early, having regular mealtimes, avoid staying up late and keeping active during the day. Habits such as going to bed late and eating late are one of the main issues that will affect your mental state. Following these will help you see a big improvement in your life however below are some extra examples that you can follow.

Drinking 2L of water a day


Avoid high levels of sugar
